The distinctive diagonal headlights are directly inspired by the diagonal cables on the new Champlain Bridge.
It is a design with character, inspired by the crossing over the Saint-Laurent River. The green line on the side symbolizes the new Champlain Bridge. The “R” superimposed over the line represents the REM that crosses it.
The headlights are a subtle reference to the angel’s wings on the George-Étienne Cartier Monument at the foot of Mont-Royal.
It is a clean design along horizontal lines. The green roof symbolizes Mont-Royal, lungs of the city and iconic landmark crossed by the REM.
The headlights are inspired by the wings of an airplane, representing the link to the airport and the role of the REM as an important cultural metropolis.
With a colourful design and chaotic geometric shapes, this model is a nod to Expo 67 and to the cultural vitality of Greater Montréal.
